When you say Godhumai Dosa... again strong currents of memory take me back to my childhood days, when everyday, before going to school, I used to have this Dosa with watery coconut chutney., for breakfast. This used to be my favourite breakfast, and I used to insist that I had this everyday. At that age, little did I realise the goodness of whole wheat, which includes the bran and germ of the wheat grain, and is a good source of dietary fibre, manganese and magnesium. Whole wheat helps prevent gall bladder stones, promotes women's health, protective against breast cancer, but inspite of all these benefits, it does contain carbs, due to which, some health conscious people avoid Whole Wheat. Lookswise, this resembles Rava dosa, if done properly, but has amazing flavour and taste of the Whole Wheat. This also comes out very crisp.
Drizzle drops of oil into the numerous holes, keep the fire on medium.
Ingredients
Whole wheat flour - 1 1/2 cups
Rice flour - 3/4 cups
Salt to taste
Jeera - 1 tsp
Oil to make dosas
Recipe Cuisine: South Indian; Category: Breakfast
Prep time: 5 mts; Cooking time: 45mts
Yields 10 dosas
In a vessel, take all the measured flours, add salt and jeera.
Add enough water, to make it to Rava Dosa consistency, and allow to rest for 1-2 hours.
Make like Rava Dosas, starting from the outer circles, pouring the batter from a cup.
Flip over the dosa, no need for oil, keep on slow fire, till it gets crispy.
Served with Tomato onion gothsu and coconut chutney.
