The cooked raw bananas, cooling down.
Skin removed
This is a very important step. Before or after peeling the skin, refrigerate for 1 hour at least.
Then grate the raw bananas.
Ingredients for seasoning
Heat pan, add gingely oil, and add the mentioned seasonings.
Then add the grated raw bananas, and also salt to taste. After switching off, add 2 tbsps lemon juice.
Serve hot with any rasam or kuzahmbu of your choice.
Variation
*There is another variety of podimas too.
*In 1/2 tsp oil, roast 1 tsp channadhal, 2 tsps coriander seeds, 3-4 red chillies, and also 3 tsps of grated coconut, and coarsely powder them. After seasoning, you can add the grated bananas and this coarse powder. Lemon juice is not a requisite for this. Tastes great!
*While the first variety is sober and subtle in taste, the second variety befits spice lovers.
